Cased Japanese Retired Officer Badge
A semi-enameled badge featuring a fouled anchor and crossed swords over which is affixed a brass five-pointed star. This is mounted on a hand-embroidered bullion motif on brown cloth. To the reverse is a narrow vertical pin, to each side of which are embossed a series of vertically arranged kanji characters. Officers were given enameled badges indicating their rank or position in the group. This is placed in a heavily lacquered case with Kanji.
