German WWII > Belt Buckles > Red Cross >
Here we have a 1938 version of the German DRK Red Cross Buckle. This piece is constructed out of an injection molded, aluminum base that has burnished. The obverse depicts a stylized red cross eagle with a swastika on its chest and the Red Cross logo in its talons, being surrounded by a laurel leaf wreath that is open to the top and tied together at the bottom, all of which lies on a decorative pebbled background. The aluminum prongs and integral catch remain in excellent condition! Reverse is marked "OLC" and "Ges Gesch."The silver wash has been absorbed into the alloy base. Wonderful detail remain throughout the whole piece. It measures approximately 2 ½ inch wide by 2 inches high.
