Early Army Dagger by Eickhorn

Here we have a 2nd pattern Eickhorn Model 1935 Army Dagger (Heer Dolch). This one has a dark and crisp acid etched "Original Eickhorn Solingen" maker mark is beautifully executed! The crossgrain is good. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight! The blade has some spotting it rates a solid Exc+. The brown leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based and nickel-silver plated dent-free scabbard is in good condition! It suffers minor wear. The original throat retaining screw remains tightly intact. The alloy based nickel-silver plated Eickhorn 2nd pattern crossguard provides crisp details throughout the straight head, wings, wreath and chest all highlighted by the patina! The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with the proudly displayed oak leaves and acorns! The orange grip has a few wee rubs but no cracks or chips. It does have a translucent quality to it but I hesitate to call it glass. I nice 2nd pattern Eickhorn.
