A M1938 - 2nd Model Kriegsmarine Dolch für Offiziere by Eickhorn. The acid etched fouled anchor blade on this one has age stain. The fit is nice and tight. The crisp etch remains nice and dark and the stamped mid-period "Original Eickhorn Solingen" maker mark is correctly executed! The blade on this one rates a solid Exc/Exc+ with a nice dark etch. There is spotting throughout. The tan buffer pad remains. The brass based, gilded and lacquered lightning bolt scabbard has some dents and bends. These do not interfere with insertion of the blade. The details and hand enhancing are beautifully displayed! It has several wee hits and marks from period wear. The throat retaining screws remain intact and unturned. The brass based hilt and pommel are beautifully detailed with the fouled anchor and a proud Kreigsmarine eagle sitting right on top! The hilt and scabbard match in gilding, color and patina. The wood based, white celluloid grip is damage-free. The double twisted brass wire wrap remains tightly intact! Included is a correctly tied cellon Navy portepee. A nice example!
