A Model 1938 - Deutsches Rotes Kreuz Hewer für Mannschaften und Unterführer. The fullered sawback blade on this one is beautiful. The crossgrain is easily visible as you shine it in the light. The sawback teeth are sharp and in perfect condition. The fit is perfect. The blade rates a Exc++ with just a few dots of age. The brown leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based black repainted enamel scabbard looks excellent. It continues to retain 98% paint coverage and it remains completely dent free! The plated scabbard fittings look good with minor plating loss, matching the hilt perfectly. The upper screws continue to remain intact, the lower is a slip-fit. The hilt is alloy based nickel-silver plated. The Third Reich red cross medallion to the front crossguard has fine vaulting and detail! I see no plating loss. The correct bakelite checkered/smooth grip plates are in perfect condition! They are tightly secured by two steel screws. This one also comes with a correct but well worn black leather frog missing one rivet. A nice example
