Nice early brass based hilt. The plated blade has wear, some fingerprint stain and evidence it's been cleaned. certainly Exc+. The blade is stamped with Alcoso scales logo below the obverse languet. It has a very slight bend if you look down it. This one is illustrated in Angolia reference pg 64. Real nice details to this. This eagle is in the long pointed wing political style. The black enamel dent-free painted scabbard has minor wear and scrapes. This is a brass based example with some wear but exhibits much of the original fire-gilt. The top of the hilt expertly covers the tang with hand enhanced detail to the lion's hair. The head again is hand enhanced with inset evil looking glass eyes. The oak leaf and acorn motif is continued everywhere including the ferrule and back-strap. The grip is black celluloid and is in perfect shape without chips or cracks. It is wrapped with triple brass wire. Good early sword.
