Army Sport Shirt Insignia
A Heer Sportabzeichen. The sports shirt eagle was introduced on July 4th 1935 and was to be worn on the front center chest of the white sleeveless sports shirt. It is constructed out of a machine embroidered black and white cotton thread to a white rayon base. The rectangular obverse depicts a black Army eagle with outstretched wings clutching a wreathed swastika within its talons on a half-moon white cotton base and a white rectangular rayon base. It measures 10 3/4 inches long by 5 5/8 inches tall. Minor age and soil. A good display piece. Purchased from Vet's daughter by me.
