A M1937 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger (Fliegerdolch) by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. The factory polished blade on this one looks good. The etched “Original Eickhorn Solingen” maker mark is crisp and beautifully executed. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade on this one rates Exc+. It shows surface scratches, age grey as well as some minor spotting toward the tip. The leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based airplane grey plated scabbard looks great! It depicts awesome details throughout the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. It remains completely dent free and the two headless throat retaining screws remain intact. There is some wear. The aluminum Luftwaffe eagle crossguard has amazing hand chased detail to its head, feathers, wings and top side embossed oak leaves and acorns. The steel ferrule and pommel look excellent as well. The damage-free trylon grip retains its' aluminum springy wire wrap remains tightly intact. A nice example!
