M40 NS64 SD Army Helmet

Stamped, sheet steel construction helmet retains a good portion of its painted surface while showing wear and field usage. Eagle decal is about 95% complete. All three liner retaining rivets and both inserted ventilation bushings are all intact. The interior of the helmet has a dark tan, M31 leather liner with all eight of its fingers intact, one has a tear. Liner ink stamped size is hard to read but I think "56". Original size adjustment string is present. The interior reverse neck guard apron is lot number stamped, "765", and the interior left side apron is stamped with the manufacturers code and size, "NS64" indicating manufacture by Vereinigte Deutsche Nickelwerke, AG. Schwerte, size 64. Ching strap it lost to time..
