A M1937 Fliegerdolch by Paul Weyersberg of Solingen. Wow what a beautiful 2nd Model Luftwaffe by Paul Weyersberg! The more desirable plated blade on this one looks wonderful! It has a beautifully executed, dark, acid etched "Paul Weyersberg Solingen" maker mark! It has a perfect tip and perfect fit. The plating is wonderful, giving it a mirror like finish! The blade on this one rates a solid NM with just a few witness marks from where the runners have rested for the past 80 years. The leather buffer pad remains intact. The airplane grey plated scabbard looks great! It depicts awesome details throughout, with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. It remains completely dent free and the two headless throat retaining screws remain intact! The burnished aluminum eagle crossguard, steel ferrule and aluminum pommel all look awesome! About 20% of the gilt remains to the pommel. The eagle has amazing detail to its head, feathers, wings and top side oak leaves and acorns. Peek t the back and you can see where there is a "b" inscribed, why where, who IDK! The pommel is beautifully hand enhanced! Just beautiful! The early trylon grip has aged to a deep yellow over time. The grip has wear and use. The wire wrap remains tightly intact. Nicely finishing this is an original worn portepee. This is an excellent example that would be a prized piece among your collection!
