Eickhorn Senior Forestry Cutlass

Here's a beauty cutlass. The plated blade is stamped with the mid-period Eickhorn logo to the reverse. The triple etched surface is in very good shape being a nice crisp and deep and dark. The spine pattern is a leaf motif. The blade is very nice. There's no evidence of sharpening, just a couple dots of age about the maker mark. The blade measures 13" and rates as NM. Original green buffer pad intact. The hilt has just the lightest evidence of use but look at all the gilt!! Just a great finish here. The clamshell is nicely cast with a stag and an Eickhorn squirrel. Marketing genius! The D-guard terminates with the classic deer hoof that has all been hand chased. This is assembler numbered under the original green buffer. Nice stag grip plates have 3 acorns and oak leaves. The bone grip-plates are perfect with no chips, there are some small hairlines to the very top typical when using natural materials. All the scabbard fittings are in good shape showing wear but no dents. Great leather all the stitches are intact. A cutlass you will feel proud to own.
