Eickhorn Senior Forestry Cutlass

Here's an example with a great etch. beauty cutlass. The plated blade is stamped with the early 3rd Reich Eickhorn logo to the reverse. The triple etched surface is in very good shape being a nice crisp and deep and dark. The spine pattern is a leaf motif. The blade is very nice. There's no evidence of sharpening, just a couple dots of age. The blade measures 13" and rates as Exc++. Original green buffer pad intact. The hilt has just the lightest evidence of use but look at all the gilt!! Just a great finish here. The fluted clamshell is nicely cast. Marketing genius! The D-guard terminates. The D-guard terminates with a hand enhanced deer hoof. Nice stag grip plates have 3 acorns and oak leaves. The celluloid grip-plates are perfect with no chips. All the scabbard fittings are in good shape showing wear. The lower has a few impressions to the reverse you can feel with your fingers. Great leather all the stitches are intact. There is minor shrinkage keeping the scabbard about 1/4" from fully seating on the hilt.
