Eickhorn Hunting Dagger

Love these things! A dog themed Hirschfanger! The single fuller 19 Inch blade is a triple acid etched example. It is correctly stamped with a a 1935-41 Eickhorn maker mark. The etch is nice and clear having highly detailed panels depicting hunting scenes. There is no sharpening and the blade is very clean. The factory felt buffer is lost to time. The tip has some minor age and the fit is perfect. The blade rates Exc++. The scabbard has fine black leather. It has two decorative lines running the length of the scabbard on both sides. All of the stitching remains intact. Both undented matching blackened steel fittings have scalloped edges. The staples are still intact, peek under the staples and again you will see wee assembler numbers. The clamshell has good detail. The crossguard terminates with stag hooves. The grip is a beauty piece of stag. The top of the pommel is a elaborately hand enhanced dog head. Likely some sort of hunting dog.
