Nice early hand engraved sword at a great price. Look at the hand stamped details! The blade on this one rates NM. It's stamped to the obverse, "E.u.F. HORSTER SOLINGEN". There are a few small scuffs but about as good as it ever gets. Certainly NM! The original leather buffer pad remains intact. This one is not illustrated in Angolia reference. A new find The black painted scabbard looks to have suffered a bend and some point. It's bent back straight and the bend does not in anyway affect the insertion of the blade. The scabbard throat is secured by two dome head screws. The hilt and P-guard are beautifully detailed hand chiseled brass with honest wear to the high areas. The languet features a closed wing style Werhmacht eagle. The black celluloid grip is missing some wire, other than that is undamaged.
