WMW Waffen 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger

A M1937 Fliegerdolch by WMW (Waffenfabrik Max Weyersberg) of Solingen. A reasonably priced later 2nd Model! The stamped "WMW Waffen" maker mark is evenly stamped although on a slight angle which is understandable as these were done by hand. The crossgrain is easily visible. Overall the blade rates Exc+. It shows minor age gray. The original buffer pad remains intact. The steel based airplane grey scabbard has a couple dents to the lower obverse. It is beautifully detailed with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns throughout. The two throat retaining screws remain intact. The matching patinaed eagle crossguard looks awesome! It is beautifully detailed throughout the eagles feathers, wings and top side embossed acorns and oak leaves! The steel ferrule and pommel are also both nicely detailed! The wood over plaster based celluloid covered grip looks excellent being chip and crack-free! The springy aluminum wire wrap is in intact.
