Municipal “Cut-Down” - Seitengewehr für Polizei by Alcoso. The plated blade on this one looks great! It retains a nice and bright mirror like finish along with a perfect fit and sharp factory “Cut-Down” tip. The blade is proof stamped to the spine and rates a solid Mint. The black (Municipal) leather scabbard body looks great, I see no damage and unlike so many of these the stitching is 100% intact. It continues to retain all of its stitching. The four vertical lines running through it giving it that finishing touch of German detail. The nickel-silver based plated scalloped scabbard fittings remain in excellent condition, matching the hilt in color and patina. The only plating loss I see if to the ball. from honest wear. Both staples, frog lug and throat retaining screw remain intact. The solid nickel hilt depicts wonderful burnished detail throughout, with the oak leaves, acorns and highly detailed pommel eagle. The mortise button functions quite fine. The reverse is clearly marked “S.E.I. 36." (Schutzpolizei Polizeiverwaltung Erfurt) matching the crossguard! The multi-toned stag grip plates are tightly secured with two aluminum rivets. The centrally placed first pattern aluminum police eagle is properly pined and retains nice detail. Nicely finishing this is an marked black Police frog. An exceptional police bayonet, you will not find a nicer one!
