Here we have a Russian Front Medal by Moritz Hausch A.G.! It is made of a die struck, zinc-alloy base that has been silver washed and blackened. The obverse depicts the early national closed winged eagle clutching a stagnant swastika in its talons, in front of a laurel wreath and below an M35 pattern helmet and model 24 grenade. The reverse reads: "Winterschlacht Im Ostem 1941/42" (Winter Battle in the East 1941/42), which is above a crossed sword and laurel leaves and below the same helmet and grenade. Attached to the top is a soldered loop and "127" marked ring. It comes with approximately 6 inches of original red, white and black rayon ribbon. Much silver wash and blackening is lost to time. It retains beautiful detail! A solid example!
