A Model 1935 - Wehrmacht Heer Dolch. The tapered tang blade on this one looks good. The early acid etched “ACS” with scales maker mark is nicely executed! The tip comes to a perfect point. All crossgrain remains visible. The blade rates Mint-. The large brown leather buffer pad remains intact. The early brass based, nickel-silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands! Both original throat retaining screws remains intact. It does have lots of wee hit as these rare early scabbards are soft. The zinc-alloy based, silver plated SMF eagle crossguard has light wear and scuffs. The early pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns that are easily visible through the back burnishing. The orange, trylon grip on this one looks great. It does have one wee chip clearly shown. Ok so what's with the SMF fittings on the hilt? We do see some of this sometimes and all the patina matches. It is NOT textbook however it look like it has always been together.
