A Wehrmacht Bajonett fur K98 by F. Herder of Solingen 1944. The K98 Bayonet was designed for the German Wehrmacht standard service Karabiner 98 kurz (7.92x57mm Mauser cartridge) bolt-action rifle - 1935. The single edged, single fullered, blued blade on this one look great, rates Exc++/NM. It has beautiful bluing, and a perfect tip and fit! There is some wear from the runners. The blade is stamped "44ffc" to the reverse and "3637 d" to the obverse matching the scabbard. The dent-free scabbard is in good shape! It has some light wear throughout and a good finish. The original throat retaining screw remains intact! The hilt is in good shape with only minor wear. The brown chip and crack-free bakelite grip plates have a few pressure marks yet they remains in excellent shape! This piece is profusely inspection stamped as one would expect. A nice example!
