WMunicipal - Seitengewehr für Polizei by WKC. Well here we have a nice matched example of a Municipal Police Bayonet by WKC! The plated bade on this one looks great! It retains a nice and bright mirror like finish along with a perfect fit and sharp factory “Cut-Down” tip. It retains a nice and bright mirror like finish along with a perfect fit and sharp tip! The double stamped knights head / "Weyersburg Kirschbalm & Co Solingen" maker mark and spine proof stamp are all nicely executed! The blade rates a solid Exc++. It shows evidence of the cut down blade (all of these were that way post Weirmar period) along with minor spotting and surface scratches throughout. The black municipal leather scabbard body looks great! It has the odd scuff yet it remains nice and dark and retains all of its stitching. The four vertical lines running through it giving it that finishing touch of German detail! The nickel based and plated scalloped scabbard fittings have nicely patinaed with age. There is a few minor scratches and its staples remain intact. The scabbard is clearly marked “S.B. 617.” (Polizeiverwaltung Berlin) exactly matching the crossguard. Pls do not ask me to show you the back of the scabbard cause it's next to impossible to see back there and harder to photograph! Trust me, it's correctly marked. The scabbard snugly fits the brass based hilt. The hilt matches the scabbard in color, wear and patina. It depicts wonderful burnished detail throughout, with the oak leaves, acorns and highly detailed pommel eagle! The multi-toned stag grip plates are tightly secured with two aluminum rivets. The centrally placed aluminum police eagle is properly pined and still shows nice detail throughout! Finishing this is a nice marked K98 frog. A nice looking example of a police bayonet! Snatch it up before someone else does!
