Here we have a beautiful Model 1935 Army Dagger (Heer Dolch) by E. & F. Horster! The blade on this one is Exc+! A unique feature of this manufacture is that they marked the underside of their 4th pattern crossguard with their H-and-sword manufactures mark. A desirable trait! I don't recommend taking this apart rather just mention it for interest sake. The acid etched "E. & F. Horster Solingen" maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed! The blade has been clean and much grain remains. The fit is perfect and it has a perfect tip. There is some age grey the worse of which it to the obverse. The leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based, nickel-silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands! It remains completely dent free and the original throat retaining screw continues to remain intact. The zinc-alloy based, nickel-silver plated crossguard provides beautiful crisp detail! Check out that chest very cool! The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns. The orange chip and crack-free trylon grip on this one has light wear. Traces of factory lacquer remain. All matching patina. Nice Horster!
