Here we have a Restored Model 1935 Army Dagger (Heer Dolch) by E. & F. Horster. The blade on this one has stain. The 4th pattern crossguard was broken under the ferrule, it was repaired and nothing is visible unless you disassemble it. I don't recommend taking this apart rather just mention it for interest sake. The acid etched "E. & F. Horster Solingen" maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed! Some crossgrain remains. The fit is slightly off and the guard is cocked to the right a few degrees. The leather buffer pad remains intact making the repair invisible from underneath. The steel based, nickel-silver plated scabbard provides good detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands! It remains completely dent free and the original throat retaining screw continues to remain intact. Oh wait, why is it to the obverse? Relax, just proof there were Mondays in the 3rd Reich! The zinc-alloy based, nickel-silver plated crossguard provides beautiful crisp detail! The finish is absorbed into the zinc base. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns. The dark yellow grip has a chip right at the ferrule.
