A Model 1934 - Sturmabteilung Ehrendolch by Ernst Pack & Sohne of Solingen. Ernst Röhm Honor daggers were granted to members of the SS/SA who either had uninterrupted service since December 31, 1931 or those who transferred from the Hitler Youth prior to December 31, 1931. After the Night of the Long Knives, Ernst Röhm was declared a “traitor” and removal of the inscription was mandated. The blade on this one looks great! The “In herzlicher kameradschaft Ernst Röhm” inscription is factory removed along with 2% of the top of the maker mark. The “Alles für Deutschland” motto and “E. P. & S. Solingen” maker mark are both crisp and beautifully executed! The blade has been cleaned and some age and gray remains. The fit and tip are both perfect. The blade rates Exc/Exc+. The dent-free scabbard is steel based and brown anodized. The brown finish looks great with some factory lacquer remaining. The patinated solid nickel scabbard fittings has small bumps and wear the ball is dented and all four screws remain intact. The reverse of the lower crossguard is stamped “Nrh” (Niederrhein). The light brown grained hardwood grip is Textbook E. Pack. It is in good shape wonderful shape! The reverse lower left shows a flake. The correct solid nickel eagle has excellent detail and a perfect fit. The SA roundel retains 99%+ of its enamel and also has a perfect fit. Great fits throughout. An excellent piece.
