2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger by WMW

Here we have a M1937 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger (Fliegerdolch) by WMW (Max Weyersberg Waffenfabrik) of Solingen. The blade on this one has been cleaned hard and there is a bit of a wave to the tip. The stamped "WMW Waffen" looks good. The blade on this one rates VG/Exc. It shows heavy age grey and the common surface scratches throughout. The leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The scabbard is steel based nickel-silver plated. It has spotting and some oxidizing. It remains completely dent free and depicts nice detail throughout with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. The zinc based burnished eagle crossguard has nice detail to the eagles head, feathers, wings and top side embossed oak leaves and acorns. The steel ferrule and burnished aluminum pommel both look good. The trylon grip has a minute hairline. It is one tone darker to the obverse as time and age has done its' magic. The springy aluminum wire wrap is replacement as when this landed from the Vet's family the wire was missing. The right price and piece for the right guy!
