Here we have a 2nd Model Navy Dagger (Kriegsmarine Dolch) by WKC - Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Cie AG of Solingen direct from the Vet's family. The acid etched fouled anchor blade on this one looks stunning! The fit is nice and tight. The crisp etch remains nice and dark and the stamped Maker mark and nicely executed. The blade on this one rates a solid NM with a nice dark etch. No excuses required! The textbook red felt buffer remains. The brass based, gilded, lightning bolt scabbard looks great. Look at all that lacquer! The details and hand enhancing are beautifully displayed! It has light period wear. Both throat retaining screws remains intact and unturned. The brass based hilt and pommel are beautifully detailed with the fouled anchor and a proud Kreigsmarine eagle sitting right on top! The is a tiny chip to the brass where the grip meets the guard to the side. Of course the scabbard release button functions as it should. The wood based, white celluloid grip has a wee hairline to the back. These small defects would disappear with a portepee. The double twisted brass wire wrap remains tightly intact! Included is a hand made corduroy bag. I can't say when this was made but it looks period to me. A nice example!
