A Deutsches Reichssportabzeichen für Leibesübungen in Bronze by Ernst L Müller of Pforzheim. Instituted July 1, 1937, the bronze grade DRL Sports Badge was awarded to men and women between the ages of 18-32 who passed five parts of national fitness test within a 12-month period. It is constructed out of a die struck bronze base that has been bronze washed and chemically burnished. The oval shaped obverse depicts a centrally placed “DRL” in stylized letters which is surrounded by an oak leaf wreath which is tied together at the bottom with a ribbon behind a swastika. The concave reverse is maker marked “Ernst L Müller Pforzheim D.R.G.M. 35269” and correctly displays a; soldered on block hinge, soldered on rectangular wire catch and flat wire pin. It measures 1 ½ inches wide by 1 7/8 inches tall. A rarer maker.
