A Police Bayonet by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. Love these private purchase examples, especially the light aluminum based examples. These were much easier to wear compared to the heavy early converted examples. The full length 260mm plated blade on this one looks great! It retains a nice and bright mirror like finish along with a perfect fit and sharp tip! The stamped 35-41 Eickhorn maker mark is beautifully executed! The blade rates a solid NM. The leather scabbard body has light wear and the scalloped fitting are undented. The crossguard is unmarked as one would expect on a private purchase example. The scabbard snugly fits the hilt and requires a bit of pressure to get it fully inserted as is common with leather based scabbards as they do shrink over time. The multi-toned stag grip plates are tightly secured with two nickel rivets. Look at the clamshell! really a treat to find this. An excellent and very rare bayonet.
