M38 - 2.Modell Reichsluftschutzbund (RLB) Dolch für Führer. The blade on this one is very nice!The crossgrain is nice as you turn it in the sun being visible all the way from the hilt to tip. The tip is slightly repointed and does not fully insert into the scabbard coming up short a few MM. I don't know why, perhaps a bent lead weight in there are a piece of debris. The end has been retipped. The blade on this one rates Exc+. It has a age spot to the reverse and looks to be slightly retipped. The original blue pebbled leather buffer pad remains intact. The undented steel based blue pebbled leather covered scabbard is in good condition. It shows the odd pressure mark yet holds a near perfect seam and 99% coverage! The scabbard fittings all look great, with wonderful patina that only time can create! The original screws remain intact. The unique RLB eagle has matching patina. The pommel is in excellent condition. All matching patina. The wood based, leather covered grip is in excellent condition as well! It shows only minor scuffs and a near perfect seam. The 2nd Model RLB emblem looks good, 92% of its enamel remains intact. An absolutely gorgeous piece...
