K98 Bayonet by cof 44 w Tropical Frog

A Wehrmacht Bajonett fur K98 by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen 1944. The K98 Bayonet was designed for the German Wehrmacht standard service Karabiner 98 kurz (7.92x57mm Mauser cartridge) bolt-action rifle - 1935. The single edged, single fullered, blued blade on this one has age and evidence of cleaning and sharpening. The blued panels have lost all their dark finish. The fit is perfect. It is maker marked and dated "44 cof" to the reverse, and "9344 V" (serial/distribution number) to the obverse. The steel based, phosphate finished scabbard looks good. It is marked matching the blade perfectly. The single side screw remains intact. The scabbard sits securely up against the hilt. The hilt looks great! The brown bakelite grip plates are in great condition! They show light wear marks but no chips, cracks or splits! The button continues to work well. This one comes with a nice tropical frog.
