TENO Leader Dagger by Carl Eickhorn
Minty - M1938 Technische Nothilfe (TENO) Dolch für und Führer by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. The blade on this one looks wonderful! The reverse is correctly acid etched marked with the TENO eagle, “Ges. Gesch.” and with the seated squirrel “Original Eickhorn Solingen” maker mark. The obverse is nicely stamped with the serial number: “0666”-correctly matching the scabbard throat. The crossgrain is beautiful, running the full length and easily visible as you shine it in the light. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is tightly secured. The blade rates Mint-. It has the typical runner rest marks, surface scratches and the slightest age grey that you have to position the blade just right to see. The original black leather buffer pas remains intact. The steel sheet metal scabbard on this one is gorgeous! It has a beautiful factory burnished and blued finish that is tough to come by. The ball has a wee bruise. The throat retaining screw remains intact. The cross guard features the unique Paul Casberg-designed TeNo eagle having exquisitely detailed open wings and feathering. The bird grasps a lined swastika in his talons. Superimposed at the center of the swastika is a cogwheel having the organization’s initials being formed with a hammer device representing a letter “T”, positioned over the capital letter, “N”. The crips details and factory burnishing is gorgeous! The warm orange trolon grip is practically perfect. The odd bump but you have to look real close. No cracks or chips. The pommel top features an encircled cog wheel. Again, all matching factory burnishing. This is one of the best TENO daggers we’ve ever owned…
