A Heeres-Flak Abzeichen by Förster & Barth of Pforzheim. Instituted July 18, 1941, the Army Flak Badge was awarded for proven participation in several (16 points) successful actions against aerial targets. It is constructed out of a die struck zinc-alloy base that has been chemically black burnished, silvered and finished in a lacquer coating. The oval shaped obverse depicts an anti-aircraft gun that is surrounded by a laurel leaf wreath and is below a Heer eagle, clutching a mobile swastika in its talons. The semi-fullback reverse features a soldered-on sheet metal hinge, a soldered-on round plate and c-shaped catch and inverse-tapered pin. It measures 2 3/8 inches tall by 1 3/4 inches wide. Great condition!
