United States, WWII – Army Air Service Aircraft Pilot Wing. Authorized June 1919. Constructed out of a die struck sterling silver base that has been chemically burnished and lacquered. The semi-hollow back reverse is marked: “Sterling” and retains both timmermann sterling butterfly clutch pin backs that are patent marked. It measures 3 inches wide by 13/16 inches tall.
