Ehrentafelspange der Kriegsmarine mit Teil-Etui. Introduced February 23, 1943, the Navy Honor Roll Clasp was awarded to Navy soldiers who had once again proven further extraordinary personal bravery in combat and had previously been awarded the 1st Class Iron Cross. It is constructed of a die stamped tombak base that has been gold fire gilded with polished highlights and covered in a protectant lacquer coating. The round shaped obverse features a centrally placed fouled anchor behind a mobile swastika which is surrounded by an oak leaf and acorn wreath. The hollow back reverse retains all four prongs that tightly secure it to the correct red, white and black full-length rayon ribbon. It is pinned to the back, surrounding the issue case insert piece, with issue oxidized pin. The insert is made out of pressed cardboard base that is covered in a blue spray on flocking to the obverse and a glued-on paper backing to the reverse. The award measures 1 inch in diameter. The insert measures 3 5/8 inches tall by 2 5/16 inches wide. Beautiful age toning.
