Personalized - 1st Model (1934/35) Airforce Dagger (Luftwaffe Fliegerdolch/Borddolch) by Ernst Pack & Sohne of Solingen. The blade on this one looks great! The etched “Siegfried Ernst Pack & Sohne M.B.H. Waffenfabrik Solingen Waffen” maker mark is beautifully executed. The crossgrain looks excellent against the light. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit remains nice and tight. The blade rates a solid Exc++/NM. It shows age grey and minor surface scratches throughout along with the odd nail catch to the edges. The brown leather washer remains in place. The scabbard is constructed out of a steel sheet metal base that has been covered in a blue textured leatherette. The leather is in wonderful condition with a perfect seam. The satin aluminum fittings look superb. The top fitting is jeweler engraved “WE”. All of the five screws remain intact. The chain consists of seven top ringlets and has nine lower, connected to a well working “OLC Ges. Gesch.” marked clip. The crossguard and pommel top are in wonderful condition with gilded sunwheel swas’. The grip is wood based and covered in a blue leatherette. It has the odd pressure mark throughout yet looks excellent. The double twisted aluminum wire wrap remains completely intact. A wonderful example!
