Hitlerjugend Abzeichen (c.1938-45) by RZM M1/44 - C. Dinsel of Berlin-Waidmannslust. Introduced April 13, 1933, the Hitler Youth Membership Badge was awarded to a Pimpf upon successful completion of his Courage Test, along with his shoulder straps and HJ knife, should the parents have purchased these items. It is constructed out of a die stamped bronze base that has been silver washed and contains red, white and black enamel work. The rhomboid diamond shaped obverse depicts the Hitler Youth emblem, which consists of; a black mobile swastika above a square diamond which is surrounded by alternating white and red translucent pebbled quadrants and is all surrounded by a small border. The full back reverse is maker marked “RZM M1/44” and has a vertically soldered-on oval plate which holds the well working vertically placed pin assembly. The enamel work shows some cracking and age. The badge measures 25mm x 14 ½ mm. A must have for any Hitler Youth collector!
