A Model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by E. P. & S. of Solingen. The blade on this one shows age. The acid etched “Alles fur Deutschland” motto and Jung Siegfried wielding a hammer “E. P. & S. Solingen” maker mark are both nicely executed. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates Exc. There is heavy age grey and spotting throughout along with minor pitting. The sheet metal based brown anodized scabbard is in great condition. It has oxidization spotting throughout. It continues to remain dent free. The solid nickel-silver scabbard fittings are in great shape. The ball retains a nice round profile and all four screws remain intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap. The solid nickel-silver crossguards are in great shape matching the scabbard fitting’s patina perfectly. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped “Nrh” (Niederrhein). The brown hardwood grip looks excellent. It has one scratch to the front along with the typical bumps and bruises throughout. It has perfect fits. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and has a perfect fit. The early copper SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 90%+ of its enamel. This piece came from the Veteran’s nephew who states: “My grandfather brought them over from Germany while serving as a medic truck driver for 4th Army.”
