Early SA Dagger by Paul Weyersberg

A Model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by Paul Weyersberg of Solingen. The blade on this looks excellent. The acid etched “Alles fur Deutschland” motto and wreathed broad sword “Paul Weyersberg Solingen” maker mark are both dark, crisp and beautifully executed. The crossgrain is easily visible as you shine it in the light. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates NM. There is the typical spotting/age grey throughout along with an etching flaw to the “r” in the motto. The sheet metal based brown anodized scabbard is in excellent condition. It remains dent free and holds 20% of its original factory lacquer. There is the typical oxidization spotting throughout. The solid nickel-silver scabbard fittings are in great shape. The ball remains perfectly round and all four screws remain intact. The solid nickel-silver crossguards are in wonderful shape matching the scabbard fitting’s patina quite nicely. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped “S” (Schlesien). The brown hardwood grip looks wonderful. The odd bump and bruise but no cracks, chips or flakes. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 90%+ of its enamel. An excellent example!
