RARE - Early Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Robert Müller of Merscheid-Solingen. Based on construction, this piece can accurately be dated to early 1935. The cleaned blade on this one looks good. The motto has been cleaned off. The bannered crown “Rob. Müller Merscheid-Solingen” maker mark and “Ges. Geschützt” law protection mark remains 80% intact. It has a solid fit and a perfect tip. The blade rates Exc+. It has cleaned removing the motto, has been ever-so-slightly sharpened, with some nicks to the cutting edge, there is age grey and surface scratches throughout. The buffer pad remains intact. The sheet metal based black enamel painted scabbard looks great. It has scratches throughout. It retains 95% paint coverage and remains dent free. It has two runners. The folded over black leather strap remains in excellent condition. All of the rivets remain intact and the “PRYM 4” marked snap continues to work well. The hilt is constructed out of a cast iron base that has been nickel-silver plated. It is in beautiful condition. The two black checkered bakelite grip plates are in perfect condition being tightly secured with two nickel-silver grip rivets. To the center obverse of the grip is a small HJ diamond with 98%+ enamel remaining. A rare maker!
