Minty - Early SA Dagger by Gottfried Müller

Please note this item is no longer available and you were redirected to our Archives.

A Model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by Gottfried Müller of Herges-Vogtei. The blade on this one is gorgeous. The acid etched “Alles fur Deutschland” motto and unusual horse/half cog-wheel “Gottfried Müller Herges-Vogtei” maker mark are both dark, crisp and beautifully executed. The crossgrain is easily visible as you shine it in the light. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates NM. There is minor spotting throughout along with the typical scratches/runner marks. The sheet metal based brown anodized scabbard is in excellent condition. It remains dent free and holds 95%+ of its original factory lacquer. There is just the odd scratch. The solid nickel-silver scabbard fittings are in wonderful shape. The ball has a wee black bruise. All four screws remain intact. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped “BO” (Bayerische Ostmark). The brown hardwood grip looks wonderful. The odd bruise but no cracks, chips or flakes. It continues to hold the majority of its original lacquer. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 98%+ of its enamel. A superb example!
