United States - Cased Aviator / Motorcycle Glasses
United States, WWII, c.1941 - Cased Aviator / Motorcycle Safety Sun Glasses / Goggles by Welsh Manufacturing Co. of Providence. R.I. USA. Foldable steel plated construction. Brown plastic nose pads and temple coverings. Red lenses. Mesh sides. One nose pad is broken. The one mesh has been bent. The bridge is marked: “Welsh”. The case is a stamped brass construction. The interior is polished. There are some pen scribbles to the interior base. The exterior is painted in field gray. The very top reads: “Welsh Manufacturing Co. of Providence, R.I. U.S.A.”. The hinge and fastener work well. It measures 5 ½ inches wide by 2 1/16 inches deep by 1 ½ inches tall. Purchased from the veterans daughter.
