Eickhorn 2nd Model Navy Dagger
A M1938 - 2nd Model Kriegsmarine Dolch für Offiziere by Eickhorn. The acid etched fouled anchor blade on this one has been cleaned lightening the etch somewhat. The fit is nice and tight. The over-the-shoulder "Original Eickhorn Solingen" maker mark is correctly executed! The blade on this one rates a solid Exc/Exc+. The leather tan buffer pad is a replacement. The brass based, gilded lightning bolt scabbard has a couple small hits and evidence of period wear with some factory lacquer remaining. The details and hand enhancing are beautifully displayed! The throat retaining screws remain intact and unturned. The brass based hilt and pommel are beautifully detailed with the fouled anchor and a proud Kreigsmarine eagle sitting right on top! The hilt and scabbard match in gilding, color and patina. The wood based, white celluloid grip has a hairline to the top obverse. The double twisted brass wire wrap remains tightly intact! Nicely finishing this is a beautiful period portepee.
