2nd Model Luftwaffe by Paul Weyersberg
A M1937 Fliegerdolch by Paul Weyersberg of Solingen. Wow what a beautiful 2nd Model Luftwaffe! The more desirable inspection marked, plated blade on this one looks good! It has a beautifully executed acid etched "Paul Weyersberg Solingen" maker mark! It has a perfect tip and perfect fit. The plating is wonderful, giving it a mirror like finish! The blade on this one has witness marks from where the runners have rested for the past 80 years. It rates a solid NM. The blued pebbled leather buffer pad remains intact. The dark dent-free plated scabbard looks great. It depicts awesome details throughout, with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. The two throat retaining screws remain intact! The burnished aluminum eagle crossguard, steel ferrule and aluminum pommel all look awesome! The burnish is really strong nicely highlighting the detail to its head, feathers, wings and top side oak leaves and acorns. The gilt pommel is beautifully hand enhanced! The early chip and crack-free trylon grip has aged to a deep orange. There is a surface scratch to the obverse of the grip. The wire wrap remains tightly intact. Included is a very worn frayed portepee. This is an excellent example that would be a prized piece among your collection!
