Luftwaffe Sword by Paul Weyersburg
Here's a nice example of an aluminium Luftwaffe Offizierschwert, (Officer’s Sword). This one has a NM 28.5" inspection marked blade. The black etched maker mark is correctly executed just below an approval stamp. No sharpening or pitting and all the edges are smooth. The blade is certainly NM. The leather buffer is intact. The hilt fittings are all matte aluminium, lacquered with perfectly executed gilt swas's. Yes, I know the lower looks washed out, that is just because my booth lights are reflecting. Trust me they are awesome! The grip is double wire wrapped in aluminium springy type wire that we always see on later examples. There are a few odd pressure marks to the leather. The leather coverage to the shell itself which maintains it's dent free profile is 99%. Pommel is correctly hand enhanced with wee oak leaves and acorns. The pommels maintain their factory gilt to the swas's. There are a few scratches and pressure marks to the hilt fittings. The leather is all original. All headless scabbard screws are present.
