A M1938 2nd Model Navy Dagger (Kriegsmarine Dolch) by F. W. Höller of Solingen. The acid etched sailing ship blade on this one is has some minor age. There is a bit of a rough spot to one edge you can find with your fingers. The etched “F. W. Höller Solingen” maker mark looks good. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight! The blade on this one rates Exc+. The original leather buffer remains. The lightning bolt style scabbard is brass based and gold gilded. Most of the gilt is worn off. It depicts wonderful details especially with the hand enhancing towards the tip. It has 3 small hits just below the lower scabbard band to reverse, other than that no dents. Both throat retaining screws remain intact and unturned. The push button continues to work well and tightly secures the scabbard to the hilt. The crossguard and pommel are brass based and gold gilded. The fouled anchors to the crossguard and proudly perched early Holler Kriegsmarine eagle pommel is beautifully detailed! The original, chip-free grip is wood based and covered in white celluloid and has 2 tiny hairlines at the top. The brass springy wire (textbook Holler) wrap remains tightly intact! Hard to find Holler Navy daggers.
