Here we have a 2nd pattern textbook model 1935 Wehrmacht Heer Dolch by F.W.Holler of Solingen! The bright blade on this one looks great! The crossgrain is stunning as it runs the full length of the blade! The fit is perfect and the tip comes to a sharp point. The dark and crisp, acid etched "F.W. Holler Solingen" maker mark is beautifully executed! The blade has a couple spots you have to hold it just so to find them. Certainly rates Exc++/NM. The original large leather buffer remains. The steel based, plated dent-free scabbard provides good detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands! The lower band has a hairline crack that does not affect it. The original throat retaining screws remains intact an unturned! The rare 2nd pattern alloy based, silver plated Holler eagle crossguard provides beautiful details throughout the eagle's head, wings, wreath, beak and chest. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns. There is some lifting to the pommel and guard. The crossguard, scabbard, ferrule and pommel all match in color, plating, patina and age wear. Just the way you want to see them! The multi-toned orange, trylon grip on this one is damage free.
