2nd Model Luftwaffe by Paul Weyersberg
A M1937 Fliegerdolch by Paul Weyersberg of Solingen. A beautiful 2nd Model Luftwaffe! The more desirable inspection marked, plated blade on this one looks good! It has a beautifully executed acid etched "Paul Weyersberg Solingen" maker mark! It has a perfect tip and perfect fit. The plating is wonderful, giving it a mirror like finish! The blade on this one has witness marks from where the runners have rested for the past 80 years and some minor scratches It rates a solid Exc++. The blued pebbled leather buffer pad remains intact. The dark dent-free plated scabbard looks great. It depicts awesome details throughout, with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. The two throat retaining screws remain intact! The burnished aluminum eagle crossguard exhibits some age darkenng I have not tried to clean. The steel ferrule and aluminum pommel all look awesome! The early chip-free trylon grip has aged to a deep yellow over time toning one tone darker to the obverse. There is a wee hairline to the lower obverse. The wire wrap remains tightly intact. There is an old beat portepee in place. This is an good example.
