Transitional Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Carl Heidelberg of Solingen – RZM M7/65. Based on construction this knife can accurately be dated to c.1937. The thick ricassoed cleaned blade on this one looks good. The acid etched “Blut und Ehre!” rare variation looped motto is mostly polished out! The stamped encircled two-bottles “Carl Heidelberg Solingen” maker mark and “RZM M7/65” mark are in wonderful condition. The fit continues to remain nice and tight. The blade rates an Exc/Exc+. The sealed leather buffer pad remains. The sheet metal based black painted scabbard looks great. It remains completely dent free and retains 90%+ paint coverage. The brown scabbard leather is in good condition. Minor crazing to the typical pressure points. The snap continues to work well. The cast iron based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 95%+ of its plating. Some oxidization spotting throughout. The standard black checkered grip plates and they are in perfect condition and tightly secured with two steel grip rivets. The small HJ diamond retains its enamel. This piece features the correct and rare looped motto variation along with the correct die flaws.
