Here we have a textbook model 1935 Wehrmacht Heer Dolch by F.W.Holler of Solingen! The bright blade on this one has scuffs and scratches from where someone tried to sharpen it. I say tried because they gave up before it was sharp! The fit is perfect and the tip comes to a sharp point. The dark and crisp, acid etched "F.W. Holler Solingen" maker mark is beautifully executed! Rates Exc The original buffer remains. Höller employed a generic scabbard on their daggers. This dent-free steel based, plated dent-free scabbard provides good detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands! Nice plating and the original throat retaining screw remains intact and unturned! The alloy based, silver plated Holler eagle crossguard provides beautiful details throughout the eagle's head, wings, wreath, beak and chest. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns. The crossguard, scabbard, ferrule and pommel all match in color, plating, patina and age wear. Just the way you want to see them! The multi-toned orange grip on this one is what some call a glass grip. They are actually made from a translucent material, some say amber. I really not sure but suspect it's a manmade material. Regardless these grips are very hard and tend to chip and crack. this one has a chip to the reverse with a small piece missing. Finally this comes with a worn but serviceable set of deluxe hangers.
