A Beautiful Heer Sable. Nice gilded aluminium based hilt has the right arm bent down. The plated blade is very nice with a few odd scuffs but no plating loss or nail-catchers. The blade is stamped with Holler thermometer logo under the reverse languet. This one is illustrated in Angolia's reference pg 136. Wait! you say. pg 136 is WKC!! Yes it is and Holler purchased this hilt from WKC for this special sword. They added a Holler ferrule see pg 94. So interesting to see this stuff! Keep in mind these guys were all in this very same wee town called Solingen. They drank together in the local pubs and lived together. Real nice details to this with the extra work of riveting a separately die stamped Wehrmacht eagle to the obverse langet. The black enamel painted dent-free scabbard is a beauty with 95% paint intact with evidence of period wear and crazing. The top of the hilt is hand chiseled expertly matching the tang with hand enhanced detail to the lion's hair. The head is hand enhanced with inset evil looking red glass eyes. The oak leaf and acorn motif is continued everywhere including the ferrel and back-strap. The grip is black celluloid and is in perfect shape without chips or cracks. It is wrapped with triple brass wire. Great sword you will be proud to own.
