Repurposed M16 Luftshutz Helmet

The stamped, sheet steel construction, helmet retains almost 100% its original paint. This appears to be a WWI Austrian helmet that has been repurposed and decaled for the Luftshutz. Similar examples are shown in Baer's reference pg. 285. Both extended ventilation side lugs and all three of the flat headed liner retaining rivets remain. The interior of the helmet has a pre-May 1917 pattern leather liner band complete with the original pads and stuffing. Shell is unmarked. I would guess it at size 66. Nice complete example.
